Latest on MSN!

MSN Search Engine is getting equipped with all the new and latest technologies. One of them is MSN Beta that went live at the beginning of the year. Soon, they are going to implement their own version of Adwords. MSN developed other technologies such as BlogBot , to search Web journals, and AnswerBot, to better answer questions posed in plain English. Microsoft is also making search as a key component of the next version of Windows, dubbed Longhorn , which isn't expected until at least 2006. Finally, Microsoft hopes to make search more personalized. For example, the search engine would use past behavior to guess whether a user who types in "saturn" is looking for the planet or the car.

So, now you can imagine how r anking high in MSN will pay off nicely in the next year. MSN is destined to gain more market share. To rank high in MSN, I have two simple but very frequently ignored suggestions:

1. Get indexed in MSN. How? Seek out links on another site that is already indexed in MSN. For example, if your site is listed in a directory that is regularly indexed by MSN, the MSN spiders will find your site and spider it too.

2. MSN loves pages that are updated on a regular basis. The more often you update those pages with on-topic content the more MSN seems to like them.

Latest signs and rumors indicate Microsoft is going to fight the war over Search vigorously. They are going to be making a real push to gain search market share form Yahoo and Google. The latest buzz that they are getting ready to announce RSS feed Search for MSN suggests that too. If you are a Google or Yahoo – only webmaster, get your website ready for MSN too, unless you want to ignore a sea of potential customers which come or will come through MSN.
